IRSP MISSION STATEMENT
The Institute for Research in Socioeconomic and Public Policy (IRSP) is a nonprofit organization focused on scholarly research for public policy suggestions and analysis, with the ultimate goal of well-balanced, efficient, and effective policy implementation that benefits Haitian society in general, and the most vulnerable in particular.
Founded in 2002, IRSP has come to realize that the more people know about and understand the issues, the greater the chances for public officials to make decisions that take into account the economic interests of the majority in general, and the most vulnerable in particular. IRSP thus disseminates its research findings and policy suggestions in every possible way and conceivable format, from print to web publication, to video format.
IRSP also believes in strong institutional frameworks to ensure stability and accurate implementation of policy initiatives. Thus, IRSP always includes as corollary to policy suggestions, administrative procedures that ensure efficiency and transparency to guarantee success.
Each IRSP research is performed by highly qualified and experienced scholars in the studied area.
IRSP GOAL
As a Research Institute, our goal is to:
- find out through thorough studies, what the impediments are for a strong and viable society, and how to remove those impediments through rational undertakings;
- promote good governance in Haiti through policy studies and recommendations;
- encourage civil society participation in the development process; and
- suggest best practices for a vibrant citizenry regardless of socioeconomic or political status.
IRSP VISION
Our vision is rather simple and can be resumed as such: a rational and democratic Haiti that can live with not only its neighbors, but also itself in peace and prosperity.
IRSP is a tax deductible, non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization registered in the United States of America.
